Project Overview

A comprehensive logistics and erection project involving moving a 480-tonne chemical reactor from the port of Ras Al Khair to the MA'ADEN industrial site, followed by precision vertical erection.

Key Challenges

Heavy load transport across 12km of highway and refinery gates.

Overhead power lines and utility crossings requiring temporary shutoffs.

Executing the horizontal-to-vertical tailing lift safely.

Execution & Methodology

  • Configured a 16-axle line SPMT trailer with wireless control.
  • Designed and simulated the tailing lift using a 750T crawler and a 400T mobile crane.
  • Prepared road compaction zones at critical turns.

Results & Achievements

  • Successfully transported reactor through all refinery gates without incident.
  • Erected and bolted turbine in a single day under master supervision.
  • Demonstrated outstanding multi-axle logistics coordination.
